Close-up photography can be fun. Here I'm using my Tamron 60mm macro lens for this image of a blanket flower blossom - it's a great lens for really getting in close to capture things life size. The image was taken at Glacier Park on an overcast summer day - I like to shoot close-ups when it's overcast since it's not real conducive for landscape scenes and colors are more saturated. Cloud cover also helps provide more even lighting - acting like a huge lightbox.
Since depth of field is very limited at close-up ranges, it's really imperative that a good sturdy tripod is used to keep things really crisp. Also use manual focus so that you can really zero in on the part of the flower that you want to make sharp.
Cool, wish I had the budget for the 90mm macro. But I need to get 24-70 first :D
