I recently found out that the Walter P Chrysler Museum is closing it's doors to the public, and will be just used for Chrysler Corporate events. The museum is located outside of Detroit in the suburbs of Auburn Hills. They have about 70 classic cars and trucks dating back to the 20's. I have been loving my Tamron 18-270 zoom lens which is the perfect lens when working in museums. With the cars behind barriers, many times I will need the reach of the 270 to capture small areas of the cars at a distance away. The wide angle comes in handy when I am working in tight areas where I can't back up. So with the museum closing soon I figured I better get over there and put the 18-270 to good use.

I love these detail shots of classic cars. Those are among my favorite subjects as well. You give them great texture and rich colors. Very nice. I've checked out your Web site and really enjoyed your work.
You accept that sometimes the photographer winds up in the chrome, and you play with that in interesting ways. It's always a struggle for me to control the reflections, especially shooting car shows in daylight.
The other problem is dust! People bring their cars to a show and don't wipe them down. Dust on cars has ruined a number of shots for me.
So many classic cars are shot in 3/4 front view, but I rarely do those - mainly I shoot those views to document the vehicle for myself to identify it later, but the photos I work on and post are the details.

Thanks Phil, cars are tons of fun to shot, and if you get a chance check Old Car City, north of Atlanta, over 4,000 old classic in the woods. Check my website to see some OCC images.

Wow! I love these photos. It's convincing me to buy a new 18-270 Tamron.
